The South African man who was at the centre of a fake resurrection miracle has died.

Brighton “Elliot” Moyo became a viral sensation when he was filmed playing dead in a casket only to rise to life after South African pastor Alph Lukau prayed for him. They claimed he had been dead for three days but was resurrected by the controversial pastor when he was brought to Alleluia Ministries International.

It was later revealed that the miracle had been staged after the funeral houses involved spoke out.

But Zimbabwean born Moyo has now died for real. And this time, sadly, there was no resurrection as he’s already been buried, according to H-Metro.

A family source who spoke to H-Metro says Elliot died last week in a village called St Luke’s in South Africa. He was buried on Saturday.

The relative said Elliot’s stomach started swelling and didn’t stop for three days and on the third day, he died.

Elliot is reportedly survived by his wife. They have no child.
