Jordi Alba signed his new contract at FC Barcelona on Monday keeping him at the club until 2024.
The 29-year-old Spain left back joined FC Barcelona from Valencia in 2012 and has won four league and one UEFA Champions League titles since he has been at the club.
At a press conference on Monday, Alba spoke of his relationship with Lionel Messi who could also be about to renew his contract.
Messi’s current deal expires in 2021.
The defender said: “I hope Messi stays until 2024 too, because we enjoy playing together.
“I have matured a lot as a player alongside him. He makes you a better player.”
FC Barcelona currently top the Primera Division, are in the Spanish Cup final and have reached the last eight of the UEFA Champions League.
